Our Purpose

Walking With Swager promotes Community Involvement, Family Development, Dream Empowerment, and Outreach Engagement to unite communities. Benefits include strengthened families, restored lives, fulfilled dreams, and increased cooperation.

By bringing together Non-Profit, Church, Marketplace, and Government sectors, we can effectively impact the nation. United we stand.

Individuals achieving more than imagined. Families with engaged parents are crucial.

Neighbors assisting each other to create hope in our community, especially in an unpredictable world.

We impact through volunteer coordination, life skills workshops, Non-Profit development, and disaster response.

Our History

2016 — Walking with Swager was officially formed and began serving the local community as needs arose.

2017 — The organization became an official 501(c)(3). During this year, it coordinated volunteers at local events and served the requests of 12 families in need.

2020 — Served as a community partner with local churches and nonprofits, distributing items following the March 2020 Nashville Tornado. Efforts then shifted to COVID-19 relief, including running errands for homebound residents. Opened the first office that summer.

2021 — Following the Waverly floods, Walking with Swager coordinated with multiple regional and national organizations to provide resources during the initial recovery phase. Partnered with a local church to assist with resources and volunteer operations.

2022 — Served as the local partner to Operation Blessing following the December 2021 tornado outbreak. Simultaneously supported long-term recovery projects in Waverly, TN, by providing volunteer labor and/or resources to 7 homeowners. Continued meeting multiple service requests in Goodlettsville while also serving tornado victims in Russellville, KY.

2023 — In just one month, the organization received more financial donations than in the entire 2017 fiscal year. Service requests increased from one per month to one or two per week. The Blessing Box program expanded, and training programs and classes began running weekly. Moved from the first office into two offices in different locations and secured the first dedicated warehouse space. It was a strong year of growth.
